Founded
by Marlo Bennett, LMFT, Pathways to Success is located in Park City,
Utah.
Marlo
has 15 years experience in private practice, psychiatric crisis
evaluation, and inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment
programs. She has a practical counseling approach, and clients report
this is very helpful to them.
“I
specifically chose a Marriage and Family Therapy training program
because of the philosophy of that profession. We are all interconnected
with our family, friends, business associates, and co-workers. When
individuals choose to change their view of themselves or their behavior,
the balance shifts in that person’s social system. Effective counseling
takes this into account and helps prepare the person to assertively
cope with others’ reactions and to invite significant others to
support their growth.”
Marlo
is a firm believer in “when I believe it, I’ll see it.” She finds
visualization and affirmations to be powerful therapeutic tools.
Her personal experience with these enabled her to take a year-long
leave of absence to travel around the world in 1995-96.
Marlo
has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from PepperdineUniversity in Malibu, California. Upon completing a required
3,500 hour post-graduate internship, she passed the rigorous written
and orals licensing examinations. She is a Licensed Marriage &
Family Therapist in Utah and California, and she is a Certified
Hypnotherapist. In addition to private practice, she has been an
instructor of psychology at Utah Valley State College and a guest
lecturer at the Graduate School of Psychology, California State
University, Long Beach.
She upholds the highest ethical standards and is devoted to utilizing
practices that optimize the client’s potential.
“Counseling
requires a team effort: the client provides expertise about themselves;
the counselor provides the technical expertise. Working in tandem,
the possibilities for success are unlimited.”
